Minor pentatonic scale played horizontally
Instructions
Here's an exercise that will help open up your playing when using the pentatonic scale. The idea is to play as much as possible along the length of the neck, moving a bit away from the comfort zone of the fingerings you first learned.
I recommend using the slides and hammer-ons as shown in the tabs.
As a reminder, the minor pentatonic scale is built with the following intervals:
I (root) - III m (minor third) - IV (fourth) - V (fifth) - VII m (minor seventh)
Of course, play as cleanly as possible, and don't hesitate to lower the tempo if needed :)
